This is my seventh year teaching Spanish at Northview in Ankeny. I currently teach four sections of
Spanish I and two sections of Spanish II.
I grew up in Urbandale,
Iowa, and attended the University of Northern Iowa to become a math teacher. After taking some Spanish classes and deciding
to study abroad in Oviedo, Spain, I added a Spanish major. I graduated with a double major in Math Education and Spanish
Education in 2002. For the last few years, I have enjoyed taking graduate level Spanish courses at UNI and education
courses at Drake University. I completed my Master's Degree in Effective Teaching, Learning, and Leadership at Drake
in 2007.
I love to travel as much as possible. I've traveled
in Europe, Mexico, and the US -- but would love to see more! My most recent adventures have been in Hawaii,
Spain, and Colorado. I also enjoy reading, scrapbooking, and watching movies.
My husband and I live in Ankeny. We have a beautiful baby girl, Madeline Grace, who was born in April 2008. We
love living in Iowa and are blessed to have much of our extended family in the area.
